I made a desk from a closet door.

One of our desks was damaged when we moved. I tried to find a desk that was made for two people, but was having a hard time. I wanted a desk that was 80 inches wide to fit the space perfectly. When I was at Habitat for Humanity, I found a closet door, and it was almost the perfect width.

I painted the desk with chalkboard paint that I got from Wal-mart for about $10.00. I used six screw-on legs (stained black) and the mounts from Lowes. I did use some support brackets underneath because of the length and amount of junk I will probably put on it. I am really happy with the outcome.

Do you love cotton candy grapes?

Cotton Candy grapes can be tough to find since they only sell them in a few stores. They are more expensive than regular grapes but are just so delicious. Yesterday at Sam’s Club I found grapes called Candy Hearts. I decided to give them a try, and they taste almost exactly like Cotton Candy grapes. If you love Cotton Candy grapes, give these a try. These are approved by my daughter as well.

Schwan’s

I get bored of coming up with meals, so I finally decided to take the plunge and try out Schwan’s. I saw one of those coupons for half off, and there I went. I ordered a few different kinds of chicken, pulled pork, bacon, beef roasts, and more. I have tried two items, the Mediterranean chicken and the mini beef pot roasts. The chicken was pretty good, but the pot roast is fantastic. You get a huge awesome cooler bag when you order also.

Cheap outdoor decor

I am really proud of this project. I wanted some sort of decor for the porch, but everything I found was too expensive. I found this lattice at Habitat for Humanity for $5.00.

I went to Michaels and found some wood pieces to glue on diagonally. I also found small white wooden boxes at Michaels that were on clearance for about $1.50 and drilled holes into the back. I zip tied them onto the lattice and put cheap floral pieces into them. I also got the garland from Michaels.

Fall pumpkin painting

The kids and I enjoy painting quite often. I saw this idea on Pinterest, and the black and white print is so cute. I recently bought some ribbon and thought it would be lovely to add a 3D bow to the painting. I usually trace the outline for the kids.

I had the kids paint the pumpkin first, and they went back and focused on the black lines later. The bow is hot-glued. This is a cheap decoration for Fall, and it matches the theme I am going for. I also decided to add the ribbon to my fake pumpkins.
